“Sometimes the bravest and most important thing you can do is just show up.”
- Brene Brown

WHO I WORK WITH:
I currently work with women and those who identify as women ages 18 and older. I especially have a soft spot for college students as they are in such an exciting but transitional season in their lives. My focus in my practice is on helping people navigate new, hidden or unexpected anxiety and/or depression in their lives. These might be symptoms that individuals are just discovering or perhaps as a result of shifting circumstances. In my work, I also help people wrestle through significant life transitions (both positive or negative life changes) that they find themselves struggling to adjust to or cope with. I also work with women on building self-compassion, boosting self-esteem and positive body image work through seeking to reconstruct negative thought patterns. And finally, I specialize in working with individuals on relationship or family of origin issues that are ongoing or have newly come to surface in times of change or in hard times. I have found often the reasoning people seek counseling can be for more than one reason or even reasons than above and that is completely understandable as no two persons are alike.

MY APPROACH:
I wholeheartedly believe choosing to engage in therapy is one of the bravest and most self-compassionate things a person can do for themselves. In my practice I utilize techniques from various modalities including: Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused and other Eclectic approaches. For more information on the various approaches I use feel free to contact me. I view my role not as your expert, but as someone helping you navigate your way. I encourage you as the client to actively enter into this counseling experience so you can make the most of your time in therapy.
CONTACTING ME:
If you are interested in my services I offer free consultations in person or by phone for to help me better understand your needs. You may also email me, but know this is not the most secure form of communication and I cannot insure your confidentiality.

THE FIRST SESSION:
After scheduling a time to meet up face-to-face, our first official session together will primarily focus on general intake paperwork online which I will send to you prior to our first session. The purpose behind this is for me as your counselor to get a better understanding of what is bringing you to therapy, as well as clarify your hopes and goals. We will review this intake paperwork during the session, so all you need to bring is yourself!

SESSION FEES:
Face-to-face sessions are 50 minutes long and $130 per session and I do not accept insurance at this time. I do however accept sliding scale payments (please contact me if you would like more details on my sliding scale rate).
